Doctor's Cave Beach
If you’re looking for a quiet beach with golden sand, then Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay is the one for you. As Montego Bay’s most popular beach, this small beach will not disappoint. Beach dwellers will find updated facilities and lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent. Also, unlike other beaches on this list, radios and vendors are banned from the beach so you’re sure to have a quiet stay here. There is an admission fee to enjoy the beach, however with such blue water, a quiet ambiance and great snorkeling, the cost to enjoy Doctor’s Cave Beach is well worth it.
Seven Mile Beach
Found on the west coast of the island is Seven Mile Beach, the longest beach in Jamaica. Also referred to as Negril Beach, this stretch of sand is truly miles long. Due to its lengthy stretch, you’re sure to find a great spot to enjoy the sand, sun and water. It doesn’t matter if you’d prefer to sunbathe, swim or jet ski, you can do it here. There are plenty of eateries and lodging options right along the beach. Since Seven Mile Beach is so popular, however, do expect plenty of tourists when you visit this Jamaican beach.
Frenchman's Cove
Found in Port Antonio, Frenchman’s Cove offers a quiet beach scene compared to more popular beaches like Seven Mile Beach. This tropical oasis has turquoise blue water and white sand. Snorkelers and swimmers flock here because of the colorful fish that roam the waters at Frenchman’s Cove. This family-friendly beach does cost admission, however, the affordable price makes it ideal for even budget travelers.
Mammee Bay Beach
If you’re looking for a great sunset spot in Jamaica, then consider staying out on Mammee Bay Beach until the day ends. This beach, found only a 15-minute drive from Ocho Rios, is popular among water sports enthusiasts and windsurfers too. Mammee Bay Beach is half public and half private beach, with part of the beach owned by Hotel Riu Ocho Rios.
Cornwall Beach
Cornwall Beach is ideal for travelers wanting to not only soak up some sun on the sandy shore but also take advantage of nearby shopping too on the Hip Strip. Since Cornwall Beach is within walking distance to Doctor’s Cave Beach, you can visit both of these great beaches in a day. Don’t miss out on Cornwall Beach’s Sunday specials, especially the “bottomless” Appleton Rum libation.
Treasure Beach
Escape the crowded beach found on the north coast of the island and consider visiting this quiet oasis on the southern coast, Treasure Beach. Treasure Beach is found near a small fishing town with no resorts in sight. Therefore you will get a more local vibe here than other beaches on this list. There are a couple of low-key accommodation options and restaurants nearby if you’d like to spend more time in the southern coast at Treasure Beach.
Bloody Bay
Bloody Bay may not sound like the most inviting beach to visit, however, this beach has plenty to offer beach enthusiasts. There are a number of great beachfront resorts here, and the soft sand and shallow, calm waters are great for swimming too. Bloody Bay, close to Negril, is actually part of Seven Mile Beach but is considered the quieter section of Seven Mile Beach.
